Nothing Beats A Bentley January 31, 2007 Edward Busch (New Bern, NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just like the Bentley car, the Bentley Service Manual is the best you can buy. There's virtually nothing left uncovered when it comes to learning how your BMW works - and how to fix it when it doesn't. Whether you do your own work on your car or not, you should have this set of books. In fact, if you read through them, you'll learn that you can do a lot of work on your own, without having to pay those high shop rates.

Excellent source of knowledge for BMW repairs May 12, 2007 Five 28 (Chicago, Ill USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this manual when I decided it was time to start doing my own maintenance on my 5 series. My brake wear indicator came on showing that I was in need of brake pads and rotors, so having this book was invaluable when the time came to do the job. I had done some checking on dealer prices and found that a brake job can run anywhere from $800 - $1200. With the help of this manual, I did it myself for the cost of the parts and a few hours of work. The manual is rather expensive, but I saved about four times as much just on the brake job. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to work on their own cars.
BMW 540i Service Manual February 24, 2006 The Mechanic (Maryland) This manual is indispensible for the home mechanic to do even the more basic checks and maintenance. A pretty complete coverage of all components allows for some of the more involved checks and R&R operations.
Very useful BMW Service Manuals February 19, 2007 Carol E. Williams (Kansas City, MO United States) I found these manuals very informative if not a bit expensive. They are easy to use and it is great for finding information quickly. My initial order contined only Vol.2 of this 2 volume edition. Yahoo quickly resolved my problem.
